Hi, Folks!
We hope you can join us for our traditional Winter Solstice song circle on Wednesday, Dec 21, either in person at the Friends’ Meeting House at 1090 W. 70th Ave. in Vancouver or on Zoom.
We’re very happy to be resuming this annual tradition in-person after our pandemic interlude. Unfortunately, Covid is still with us, so we’ll continue to apply our usual safety measures at the Meeting House (masking except while leading a song, ventilation, HEPA air filtration, etc.). Please don’t attend in person if you are experiencing any Covid symptoms.
As well as decorating the hall and working their solstice magic as our hosts, Madeleine and Jim will offer some seasonal libations on the deck at break time. An elf will round up some hot chocolate as well, to be consumed outside, either on the deck or under the tree at the back. Please bring your own mug. The elf does not do dishes!
We will stream the event live to Zoom for those who are not able or inclined to attend in person. We don’t have the audio and video equipment to enable remote participants to be seen and heard by everyone in the hall, but folks on Zoom will be able to watch and listen to the proceedings in the hall and socialize among themselves during breaks. For this first, tentative experiment by the VFSS in blending in-person and Zoom gatherings, please don’t expect professional production quality!
Doors open both at the Meeting House and for the Zoom session at 7:00 pm (Pacific Time) and the evening’s program begins at 7:30. The Zoom link will be emailed out on Tuesday, as usual. (Tip: it will be the same link we have been using for our Zoom song circles for many months now.) If you are not already on our email list to receive the Zoom link, you can subscribe here.
Looking forward to seeing many of you there, either in-person or online!
