[Updated on July 30 to include Harmony Jam warm-up singing at our in-person events.]
There are lots of changes to our event schedule and formats starting in May:
• More in-person events at the Friends’ Meeting House.
• More opportunities to hear and perform 15-minute sets at the in-person events.
• Monthly online song circles combined with live-streamed performances from the Meeting House.
Read on for the nitty-gritty details, and consult our Calendar page for info on specific upcoming events.
(1) We are finally resuming our tradition of holding two in-person gatherings at the Meeting House each month, on the 1st and 3rd Wednesdays of the month. The format will be as follows:
7:00 pm Pacific: doors open
7:20 – 7:30: Harmony Jam warm-up singing
7:30 – 8:30: open stage / song circle
8:30 – 8:45: break (bring your own snacks/beverages)
8:45 – 9:45: featured sets (mostly 15 min. each)
10:00 pm: doors close
If you are interested in doing a 15-minute set, please contact our Features Coordinator or sign-up at the desk at any of our in-person events.
(2) On 3rd Wednesdays, for those who can’t join us in person, we will host an online song circle on Zoom for part of the evening, followed by a live-stream of the featured performances from the Meeting House:
7:00 pm Pacific: Zoom session opens
7:00 – 7:20: greetings & chatting; sound checks
7:20 – 8:45: song circle in the main Zoom room (no breakout rooms)
8:45 – 9:45: live-stream of featured sets from the Meeting House
The Zoom link will be sent to our mailing list the day before, as usual.
(3) On 5th Wednesdays (in those months that have one), we will host an online-only song circle of our “traditional” format:
7:00 pm Pacific: Zoom session opens
7:00 – 7:30: greetings; social & music lounges
7:30 – 8:00: five Main Stage performers
8:00 – 8:30: first breakout rooms
8:35 – 9:05: second breakout rooms
9:05 – 9:30: featured guest(s) OR four more Main Stage performers
9:35 – 10:??: informal after-session
The Zoom link will be sent to our mailing list the day before, as usual.
