Welcome! Here you will find reflections and songs related to singing in Canada.

Settler experiences east of the Rocky Mountains –from adapting to the harsh climate of the prairies, to logging in Québec, to fishing the Atlantic coast – generated many songs. Others were already present in the oral cultures of the Indigenous peoples and the European emigrants. Still others are being made today, by Canadian folk singers.
